Do you just want to have a feel good ministry or are you willing to go where you will make a real difference?
ARE YOU WILLING TO WALK THROUGH PAIN SO YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD’S LIFE?
Have you ever had so much pain, physical or emotional, that you felt as though you weren’t going to make it through another day?
Jesus knew that He was to die a painful death. He knew that His Father had the power to release Him from the pain, but He also knew that the Father had a purpose in His dying this painful death so the Father was not going to release Him from it.
Do you find yourself thinking “But Jesus was God so He had more strength; the pain wasn’t as bad for Him”?
“‘Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.’ Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him. And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.” Luke 22:42-44
Have YOU ever agonized to the point that you sweated drops of blood?
Before you can help the kids you must discover how to endure undesirable circumstances, you must learn this most difficult truth yourself. There is purpose in each painful moment we endure – it is up to us if we waste the pain. In the midst of pain, are you able to trust that the Father has your best in mind; that He has a purpose for your pain? Are you willing to submit as Jesus did, “Not My will, but Yours be done”?
We all too often jump into ministry before we are spiritually ready. We must be willing to face our own pain before we can help a kid walk through his pain.
Don’t waste your pain – God has a purpose for it.
Take some time to read, pray over, and meditate on 2 Corinthians 1: 3-11 and Romans 8:28.
Ask the Lord to give you understanding of the pain the kids are experiencing.
Jesus, Give to this servant a new understanding of the purpose of pain in his/her life. Give to this, Your child, the patient, hopeful endurance of Jesus. In the midst of pain, provide Your quiet strength. In Jesus name, Amen.
